Over the past 24 hours, police officers across the entire territory of the state have detained 16 drivers for "reckless driving." Among them, nine were operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license, including four in Skopje, and one each in Prilep, Gevgelija, Bogdanci, Veles, and Bogovinje. Under the influence of alcohol, one person was driving in Bitola, Macedonian Kamenica, Kichevo, and Kavadarci, while one driver in Macedonian Brod and Veles was operating a vehicle under a ban on driving a motor vehicle. A citizen of Sweden was also arrested for driving on the A-1 highway at double the allowed speed. After fully documenting the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We urge all participants in traffic to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to operate a vehicle without a valid driver's license, or if they are under a driving ban or under the influence of alcohol, and together we can contribute to safer traffic.
