On 24 July 2026, at 7:30 p.m., near the intersection of the local road Bogorodica–Gevgelija and the regional road Gevgelija–Bogdanci, police officers from the Bogorodica Border Police Station for Border Checks and Surveillance arrested D.K. (36) from Strumica on suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Articles 418-B, 378, and 297-a of the Criminal Code.
During an inspection of a Fiat Stilo with Austrian registration plates, driven by D.K., officers discovered seven migrants inside the vehicle: four from Pakistan, two from Afghanistan, and one from Türkiye.
Further checks established that the license plates did not belong to the vehicle, and that the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid driver's license.
The public prosecutor was notified of the incident, while the migrants were transferred to the Vinojug Reception and Transit Center in Gevgelija. After the case is fully documented, an appropriate criminal complaint will be filed against D.K.
