A criminal complaint has been filed against a police officer from the Tetovo Police Department for the crime of "obstruction of justice

The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations, and Professional Standards at the Ministry of Internal Affairs has submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption - Specialized Department for the Prosecution of Criminal Offenses Committed by Persons with Police Authority and Members of the Prison Police against F.N., a police officer in the Criminal Police Department at the Tetovo Police Department, due to reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of "obstruction of justice," as stipulated and punishable under Article 368-a, paragraph 8 of the Criminal Code.

The accused, serving as the on-duty criminal technician for criminal registration on October 4, 2025, while undertaking official actions in an incident where two individuals were deprived of their liberty due to reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of "unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors" under Article 215 of the Criminal Code, allowed police officer O.S., who was not on duty that day and is the parent of one of the detained individuals, I.S., to have full access to the official documentation, to handle it, to transfer it from one room to another, to accompany the detained individuals in the process of collecting biological traces, and to take urine samples from them. After the examination of the urine samples, it was confirmed that the urine sample from I.S. was, in fact, provided by his father, police officer O.S.

Through these actions, the accused F.N. intended to destroy evidence and to obstruct and hinder the proving of the case. The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations, and Professional Standards will propose the initiation of proceedings to establish disciplinary responsibility against F.N. and will impose a mandatory measure of removal from the workplace – suspension.
