In the period from 17–20 November 2025, as a result of the regular traffic controls carried out by police officers from all sectors of internal affairs on the roads across the country, out of a total of 2415 issued fines, 435 violations were related to drivers who did not comply with the prescribed speed limit.
Seven people were detained for reckless driving under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, six of whom were driving under the influence of alcohol, and one person for driving at a speed higher than the allowed limit outside a populated area.
Furthermore, according to the statistical overview of police activities, 824 violations were recorded for improper parking, 270 measures were issued to drivers who operated a vehicle without a driver’s licence, 16 sanctions were given for running a red light, 175 measures were issued for violations committed by pedestrians, and 23 sanctions for driving under the influence of alcohol.
A total of 115 traffic participants were sanctioned for not using a seatbelt, and 79 measures were issued for drivers using a mobile phone while driving. In accordance with the Law on Vehicles, 74 vehicles were removed from traffic because they were unregistered, and 25 due to technical malfunction. Appropriate measures were also issued to seven drivers of motor vehicles for having tinted windows or illegally installed foils.
Traffic controls will continue in the upcoming period. We appeal to all traffic participants to respect traffic rules and regulations and to jointly contribute to safer roads.
