During the past 24 hours, across the entire territory of North Macedonia, police officers deprived nine drivers of their liberty for reckless driving. Eight of them were driving without a valid driver’s license, while one driver was operating a vehicle despite an active driving ban.
Five drivers in Skopje — including two minors — as well as one driver each in Štip, Struga and Makedonski Brod, were found driving without a driver’s license. The driver in Makedonski Brod was also determined to be under the influence of alcohol, with a measured blood alcohol level of 1.77 promille.
In addition, one driver in Sveti Nikole was caught operating a vehicle despite having an active driving prohibition measure in force.
After the cases are fully documented, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
Authorities appealed to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without a valid driver’s license, while under a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol, and to contribute collectively to safer traffic conditions.
