Two persons detained; four domestic violence reports in the past 24 hours

On 19 April 2026 at 22:00, a 47-year-old woman reported to SVR Skopje that at around 16:30 in her home in the Centar area, her partner A.B. (47) physically assaulted her and her dog, and made threats against her and her son. He then demanded money, and out of fear she gave him the cash she had in her wallet.
On 19 April 2026 at 21:45 in Veles, police officers from SVR Veles deprived Z.B.P. (33) of Veles of liberty. According to the report, she physically assaulted her 32-year-old husband at home, and later, while driving her passenger vehicle “Fiat” with Veles license plates on “Blagoj Gjorev” Street in Veles, she was involved in a traffic accident with a passenger vehicle “Renault” with Veles plates, driven by T.V. (69) from Veles. In the accident, she sustained bodily injuries confirmed at the General Hospital in Veles. Following measures and checks, it was determined that she was under the influence of alcohol, with 1.95‰ blood alcohol level. She was detained at a police station and a public prosecutor was notified.
On 19 April 2026, at the Police Department in Kriva Palanka, a 50-year-old woman reported that she had been physically assaulted by her husband A.J., who also used a hard object.
On 20 April 2026 at 00:10, police officers from SVR Kumanovo deprived S.A. (34) from the village of Romanovce, Kumanovo area, of liberty, as he had been stalking and harassing his 27-year-old former partner over a longer period. He was detained at a police station.
Measures are being taken to clarify the cases, and after full documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
