A delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by the Assistant Minister in the Department of Civil Affairs, Jovan Altandziev, participated in a regional workshop on harmonizing legislation in the field of firearms and explosives with European law, held in Brussels, organized by SEESAC and supported by the European Commission.
The aim of the workshop is to align national regulations with European standards and the interests of all stakeholders, thereby contributing to enhanced overall security through clearly regulated and standardized procedures.
Assistant Minister Altandziev informed about the ongoing intensive work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in this area, addressing approximately 9,000 cases, as well as the significant progress in the digitization process, which enables electronic applications and the electronic retrieval of data from courts in the country.
The harmonization of the Firearms Law is part of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the country’s Reform Agenda.
