Vehicle Seized – Driver from the Republic of Serbia Arrested for Driving 188 km/h

Today (18 June 2026) at 18:20, on the Kumanovo–Skopje motorway near the “Rafinerija” interchange, police officers from the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit within the Traffic Affairs Sector arrested B.S. (30) from the Republic of Serbia.

During a traffic control operation conducted using radar equipment, police officers stopped a Porsche passenger vehicle with Serbian registration plates driven by B.S. The speed measurement showed that the driver was travelling at 188 kilometres per hour on a section of road where the maximum permitted speed, indicated by traffic signs, is 100 kilometres per hour.

As a result of the offence, the vehicle was seized, the driver was deprived of liberty, and he was taken to a police station for further proceedings.

Driving at speeds exceeding the prescribed limits is one of the main causes of traffic accidents, which often result in serious consequences for the health and lives of citizens.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to all road users to strictly comply with traffic rules and regulations and, through responsible behaviour, contribute to safer roads for everyone.
