Today (07.06.2026), between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., on the territory of the City of Skopje, the Traffic Police Unit and the Unit for General Competence Police Stations carried out an intensified traffic enforcement operation.
During the operation, 326 sanctions were issued to drivers who failed to comply with traffic laws and regulations.
Among them were:
- 92 sanctions for riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet;
- 9 sanctions for operating a vehicle without the appropriate license category;
- 4 sanctions for riding unregistered motorcycles;
- 6 sanctions for running a red light;
- 7 sanctions for failing to stop when ordered by a traffic sign;
- and other violations.
During the operation, police also identified one criminal offense of “reckless driving” under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.
Additionally, one vehicle was temporarily seized due to suspicion of a technical defect related to excessive noise levels.
Authorities appeal to all road users to respect traffic laws and regulations and to contribute jointly to safer roads for everyone.
