On 09.03.2026 at 21:25 in the village of Bogorodica, Gevgelija region, police officers from the Gevgelija Police Station detained I.D. (43) from Gevgelija.
Previously, at around 21:00 in the village of Bogorodica, police officers from the Bogorodica Border Crossing and Border Surveillance Police Station signaled a passenger vehicle “Alfa Romeo” with Valandovo license plates to stop. However, the driver failed to comply with the police order. Shortly afterward, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a monument in the center of the village.
As a result of the accident, the driver sustained injuries and received medical assistance from a team of the Gevgelija Emergency Medical Service.
Following measures taken by the police, it was determined that he was driving with 2.35 ‰ (per mille) of alcohol in his blood, and that the license plates on the vehicle belonged to another vehicle.
After the case is fully documented, an appropriate charge will be filed against him.
