On July 4, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, police officers from the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit of the Traffic Department conducted a targeted operation in the area of Štip, aimed at sanctioning moped, motorcycle, ATV, and electric scooter riders who do not adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
During the operation, a total of 55 measures were issued for traffic violations and criminal offenses. Among them, one measure for an expired driver's license,
one measure for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 35 measures for riders operating motorcycles without a helmet, three measures for unregistered license plates, etc.
Six criminal offenses were uncovered, one of which involved a minor, and they were detained for committing a criminal act under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, "reckless operation of a motor vehicle." One motorcycle was also confiscated for having an expired driver's license for more than six months.
Appropriate reports were prepared for all offenders.
Traffic controls will continue in the upcoming period.
